This page lists information (images AND text) about the Blakeney School Register 1864-1912. This information is provided to assist in deciding whether a visit to the History Centre may benefit your research. However, please do not assume that it is either complete or accurate.

Images (which may be clicked on to enlarge) are provided as they often convey more information than the text that follows . The images may also help with locating information within the History Centre.

The following table is a transcription from the Blakeney School Admissions Register for the period 1864-1912. The History Centre holds a hard copy of the register.

Not all the information in the register has been transcribed. For example, the information on the attainment records of children at the school is not included.

The table does contain a few inconsistencies which are present in the original register, but transcription errors cannot be ruled out entirely. If you identify any please inform the society.

Please note that column one has the heading No. The first part refers to the page number in the original register and the second part the corresponding entry on that page.

The column “Last School” has the abbreviations DS and NS. DS stands for Dame School (click here for the Wikipedia entry on Dame Schools which opens in a separate tab or window) NS stands for National School as in National School Blakeney (click here for the Wikipedia entry on National Schools which opens in a separate tab or window).

The column headings in the table may be used to change the order of entries  and the Search option can be used to find entries that match the text entered. You are only changing your view of the information. No-one else is affected by your actions and nothing is changed!
